The Bon Accord Bowling Association was established in 1934 and currently has 15 affiliated lawn bowling clubs in Aberdeen city as members (full details can be viewed under the Affiliated Clubs menu). Over the years we have provided many top class bowlers some of whom have went on to achieve international honours.
We have both a gents and under 25 squads that compete against other areas in Scotland.
In the 2018 season, our senior team finished runners-up in the National Andrew Hamilton Trophy and our under 25s lost by 1 shot in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.
In 2019, our senior team retained the Andrew Hamilton Trophy North Section trophy and reached the semi-finals. We also won the four inter-county Aitchanar Trophy for the third time in the last four years.
After a 2-year break, in 2022 we won the Andrew Hamilton Trophy North Section trophy for the 3rd consecutive competition and reached the quarter-finals. We also retained the Aitchanar Trophy, making it four wins in the last five years.
We also run throughout the season fours and triples leagues as well as individual and team knockout competitions. Individual competitions are also organised for under 17 and under 25 age groups. For the Seniors there is a Triples league and senior individual competitions.
We are delighted to continue to work with our lady counterparts the Aberdeen District Ladies Bowling Association (ADLBA) to deliver the Mixed Triples League. Details of the ADLBA events, news, results and standings can be found on their website and this can be found at www.adlba.teamapp.com.
Our 2023 season is due to commence on Monday 24th April with our finals day scheduled for Sunday 3rd September.
