Bon Accord were looking to cement our position at the top of the North Section today when we faced near neighbours Buchan at Balgownie BC. This was our last home game and although Buchan hadn’t won a game, three of their four defeats were small in margin.

North East har welcomed the players to the green as the sun tried to breakthrough.

Over the first 3 ends in each match it was the visitors who edged in front 12-19, however across the 4th ends Bon Accord bounced back gaining 8 shots to lead 23-22, which became 30-26 after 5 ends played. The rink scores were

The Bon Accord highlight of this first quarter was a big shout of “seven” from Andy Thomson’s rink on the 4th end!

Onto the 2nd quarter and the game continued to remain close with Bon Accord leading 51-47 with 9 ends played across all rinks. It was on the 10th end that the match significantly changed to our advantage as we outscored Buchan by 19 shots to 2, to lead 70-49! This 2nd quarter saw both Andy’s and Jak’s rinks score counts of 6 and Eric a 4! The individual rink scores now read:

On to the 3rd quarter and we continued to apply the pressure to Buchan by winning the quarter by 38-23 to extend the lead to 36 shots (108-72). Bon Accord highlights during the phase saw Eric’s rink count another 4, a four from Paul’s rink and two 4s from Scott’s rink! The individual rink scores read after 15 ends completed:

The next 18 ends saw Buchan retaliate as they reduced the deficit to 20 shots, however we responded by gaining 12 shots across ends 19-21 to record our 4th successive win, remain top of the North Section and continue our 100% record!
