2024 Bon Accord Junior Hat Finals Night 7th September at Whitehall BC

8 Sep by Cameron Millar

The Bon Accord Bowling Association would like to thank Whitehall Bowling Club for the use of their green and facilities, also for the hospitality shown to the young bowlers and spectators. Special thanks to Lenny and Steve in the bar.

Thank you to all the clubs who have hosted a hat this season, Newhills, Polmuir, Westhill, Kittybrewster & Whitehall. Thanks to all the Club members who have the greens set up for the juniors arriving and to the volunteers in the kitchens for keeping us supplied with teas, coffees, juice and snacks. Greatly appreciated.

The fog on Saturday did not deter the juniors from entertaining the large support which had turned up to see them play the last hat of the 2024 season.

The draw saw Megan, Lucy and Sophie play Archie, Libby, Viktor and Harrison. After three ends the scores were peels at 3-3. The next seven ends saw the girls score ten shots to the boys and Libby`s two, with the score now thirteen – five. The last four ends were evenly contested with both teams scoring four shots each, with the final hat recording a victory for Megan, Lucy and Sophie by seventeen shots to nine.

Nine rounds have been played, on five different greens, with a total of fifteen juniors taking part during this season.

On behalf of the Bon Accord Bowling Association I would like to thank Evie & Jim Shea who annually sponsor the trophy and the prizes for third, second and first place. Special thanks to Owen Jack for presenting the prizes on behalf of Evie and Jim.

Third place: Megan Orchard

Second Place: Jake Hamilton (absent on the evening)

First place: Sophie Thom
