2020 Season Update - Impact of Coronavirus

23 MAR | BY CAMERON MILLAR

As you are all aware, the Bon Accord Bowling Association (BBA) have a duty to care to all our member Clubs and their individual bowlers. The BBA Committee, having carefully considered all Government and Health Authorities advice and recommendations have taken the decision to postpone all the currently scheduled BBA events and competitions for the 2020 season until further notice. We will be monitoring the ongoing situation and continuing to follow Government and Health Authorities advice. Should the position improve, scheduled events and competitions may be organised albeit with a revised format and likely with no or minimal prize-money.

Clubs will have also received notification from Bowls Scotland advising of the cancellation of all the National events and competitions scheduled for the 2020 season. This includes the District 3 and District 4 National championship qualifying and the Andrew Hamilton Trophy. In addition, the National Top 10 competition, under 25 league and Aitchanar Trophy have also been cancelled.

The BBA Committee will be keeping in touch with one another on a regular basis by Email and phone and, if anything changes, Clubs will be updated at the earliest opportunity. As an Association, individual Clubs and Club members, we all need to be pulling together to get through this situation.

We take this opportunity to wish you all well during these difficult times. Take care and be safe!

BBA Committee
