Bon Accord B A Junior Hat League 2019

21 AUG | BY CAMERON MILLAR

At the beginning of this season, the Bon Accord introduced a Junior Hat League for under 17 players. This was set up following the demise of Grampian Juniors and they excellent work they carried out to help younger players develop their skills.

Throughout the season regular hats have been held on Sunday mornings between 10am – 12 noon and these have been held at Westhill, Seafield, Newhills, Woodend, Polmuir and Balgownie to date.

The final hat of the season takes place this Saturday at Whitehall and this will be held from 7pm – 9pm with the latter ends being played under floodlights to give the youngsters a different experience!

Once play has been completed the winner or joint winners will be announced and we are delighted to advise that a Trophy has been donated to the Bon Accord Bowling Association by Evie & Jim Shea. Very many thanks to Evie and Jim for their generous donation.

Currently, 5 players are vying for this trophy, so it is all to play for on Saturday night!

The Bon Accord Committee would like to thank both Alan Petrie and Steve Brownlie for their stewardship in making this year a success. Typically, there have been 10 players turning up at each hat to take part.

Those Bowling Clubs who have held hats should also be thanked for the use of their facilities both on and off the green.

Good luck to our youngsters on Saturday night and enjoy the floodlit experience!!
